In January 2024, the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) unveiled substantial revisions to the regulations (CFR, Subtitle A, Parts 29 & 30) overseeing the nation’s registered apprenticeship system. This eagerly awaited proposal, labeled as ‘’system enhancements’’ by the department, presents significant changes across various facets of the existing system.

CareerWise has submitted a response addressing the Department’s rule making effort. In these comments, we commend certain aspects of the proposed rule, offer recommendations for modifying specific provisions, and raise inquiries about proposals that, in our view, may not fully align with the Department’s vision for enhancing quality, access, and scalability.
